Best Moment on the Bike:On our
first date, my future husband Dan and I decided to go on a bike ride
with another friend - a very long ride on a blustery and drizzly November
afternoon. Dan was training for a marathon at the time and had run 20
miles that morning. Two hours into the ride, he bonked; he had no food,
and no water, and told us he couldn't feel his face, hands or feet.
Our friend ended up pushing Dan back into town the last 15 miles of
the ride. Dan made it to his house, but passed out in his tub, knocking
his head on the faucet in the process. I felt terrible about the episode,
invited him for dinner the next night, and moved in with him a few months
later!

Why I Love Racing: It is important
to constantly take risks in everyday being to avoid complacency. Racing
pushes me beyond that which I am capable.
